Since we have been back home for two full weeks, and since July is almost history, we better post our vacation “diary.” Be sure to check out our photos by clicking on the photo album link on the right!
Thursday, July 12: We got most of our stuff together the night before, so we were able to say goodbye to our kitty and breeze out of the house with a nice cushion of time. We got to Fargo, checked in and relaxed before our mid-morning flight. We arrived in Chicago and had just enought time to take a shuttle bus to our next gate, use the restroom and board the plane bound for Dulles Airport. It was another fairly quick flight, then a shuttle bus ride, then a stroll to the baggage claim where Steve met us. One of our bags didn’t make it from Chicago to D.C. so we arranged for it to be delivered to Steve’s whenever it showed up. We headed to Steve’s place in Arlington and took in the awesome view from the roof of his building. A little later, we met up with Steve’s girlfriend Anne and it was time for our first ride on the subway. We rode downtown, walked around D.C.’s Chinatown neighborhood and had a delicious dinner. Another subway ride back to Steve’s neighborhood and it was time to call it a night.
