Well, some of you have heard about our very long week. I didn’t feel well on Monday, just very tired, and decided to make a doctor appointment. Erin came home from lunch and I ask her to drive me there. The medical staff ran several tests and couldn’t find a definitive answer, but thought there were problems with my appendix. The surgeon stopped in to examine me and said we would go in to surgery. It wasn’t a matter of much time. Erin got me to the hospital (about 6 blocks away), I made two phone calls on my cell, and they were prepping me for surgery. Around 4:00 Monday afternoon I was in surgery to remove the appendix. Apparently the appendix was very large, and thankfully had not burst. I was doing okay recovering, but ran into a problem with bleeding. The very next morning, I was back in surgery to make some additional repairs. It was a very long Tuesday as I started to heal and kept having a few little set-backs. Wednesday was much better, and I was able to walk, shower, eat, and started getting back to normal. This morning I finally got out of the hospital. All week I kept hearing about the cold weather on TV, and I honestly couldn’t wait for the cold weather to hit me. It was a very good feeling to be back at home. Erin has done a great job in spreading the word and holding down the house. She’s been a great nurse, and I’ve always thankful for my wonderful wife. We’ll keep everyone informed on how the progress is going.
Dave, you need to get a cushy job like mine at the library – no worries, no stress! Get better soon – it’s about time for you guys to come to Grand Forks for a visit.
