Day 17 (Farewell Vancouver)

The medals have been doled out, the tears have been shed, and it’s time to wrap up the 2010 Winter Olympics. With the tragic death of a luge athlete on the day of the Opening Ceremony, the malfunctioning indoor cauldron apparatus, not enough snow, snow at the wrong times, rain, etc., some talking heads were pinning this as a super disappointing Games.

But as everything progressed, the Games turned out to provide lots of memorable moments and exciting performances. I think the City of Vancouver and the organizers can be proud of the Games overall.

Tonight I’ll be checking out the Closing Ceremony and getting one more Olympics fix to hold me over for two more years.

I must say I’m more likely to write on the blog when I have a topic. So unless I want to wait until London 2012 to blog again…time to find a new topic! Maybe Dancing with the Stars….stay tuned!
