I sent a letter to the editor to our local newspaper, that seems to be taking forever to print… so I will just add it here:

This past weekend Jamestown hosted some world-class music events.  Hairball’s return to the Civic Center was great.  It is good to see entertainment in Jamestown available for all ages, giving our residents reasons why to stay here.

As much as I enjoyed that concert, the biggest musical treat came from Jamestown College.  Last Friday (April 15), the College had a splendid concert including orchestra, pipe organ, and vocals.  The spring music warmed the crowd on a cold and snowy day. 

Sunday the campus invited the community to hear choirs, orchestra, organ and band in a stunning concert event.  This concert showcased the outstanding abilities of the College faculty, staff, students and community members.  Classical and patriotic music along with songs from Star Wars were an absolute treat to hear. 

The weekend performances were absolutely breathtaking.  Jamestown and Jamestown College should be proud of the music faculty, the ensembles, and the collaborations.  I hope there are future collaborations such as these that bring metropolitan caliber performances to Jamestown.  Bravo to all.
